BEETHOVEN ARRANGED (article first published : 2004-10-5)

Beethoven Arranged is a series of concerts presented by Music Revival featuring Beethoven’s arrangements of his own music.

The programme includes Septet Op 20 for clarinet, cello and piano and Symphony No 2 for violin, cello and piano, plus Marches for Piano Four Hands. The line-up of performers is impressive and includes François du Doit; Malcolm Nay; Ben Schoeman and Albi Odendaal alongside Ian Holloway and Mary Dullea with the popular Kerimov Trio – Elena Kerimova, Boris Kerimov and Christopher Duigan.

Concerts take place on October 10 at 11h15 at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg (tickets R40, bookings 033 342 3051); October 12 at 19h30 at Howard College Theatre on the University of KwaZulu-Natal campus (tickets R50, bookings 083 742 7497), and on October 13 at 19h30 in the Green Room, St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Kloof (tickets R50, booking essential on 083 742 7497).
