PRIME CIRCLE FOR LIVE (article first published : 2003-11-17)

Edgars and 5fm Music in association with Big Concerts International will present a performance by one of rocks most celebrated bands, the super-group LIVE, in Durban on November 25.

After their highly acclaimed South African shows in 2000, fans can expect to be rocked to the core with a show highlighting exactly what it is that has kept this band at the front of their game for the past decade.

Chart-topping local outfit Prime Circle have been confirmed as support. Acknowledged as one of the hottest rock act on the South African music scene, they have just released their debut album Hello Crazy World which has already yielded them an unprecedented two number one hits on 5fm Music Hello and Let me go. Hello also charted in the Top 10 on several other national, regional and community radio stations.

David Gresham, CEO of The David Gresham Record Company, is extremely excited about this opportunity: "We all believe Prime Circle to be the perfect choice as an opening act for an accomplished and dynamic act such as Live".

For a band formed in the small town of Witbank, late in 2001, the collective musical experience of the band members is phenomenal! Drummer Gerhard Venter has played alongside bands like Squeal, Sons of Trout and Sugardrive, and bassist Marco Gomes, and Dirk Boschoff, the lead guitarist, have played at many festivals and gigs around the country over the last 12 years.

LIVE recently performed at a string of festivals in the States, and their most recent European tour saw them playing to over 700,000 people as special guests on the Bon Jovi tour, and headlining their own shows, where Coldplay and Supergrass were their special guests!

With nearly 20 million albums sold and sold-out world-tours since their second album, Throwing Copper, LIVE has done what many bands fail to do after nearly 16 years together survive without losing their relevance, and in so doing defining the term "Rock Band".

Supported by Prime Circle, LIVE will apear on November 25 at the Durban Exhibition Centre. Booking is at Computicket or www.5fm.co.za
