FINCH & HENSON IN CONCERT (article first published : 2003-06-1)

From May 29 to 31 at 19h30, The Catalina Theatre at Wilson's Wharf presents Brian Finch & Ken E Henson in Concert.

Brian will be launching his new CD Never Look Back and re-introducing the re-released, digitally re-mastered 1974 debut classic - Bringing Back The Good Times - the album that sparked the 15 year Finch & Henson partnership and lasted for some six albums.

Ken E Henson's recent solo CD Another Time, Another Place will also be on sale. This re-union will be a feast for CD Album collectors because Finch's critically acclaimed solo album - Hero of Heroes - recorded at Al Judd's Leopard Moon in Kloof in 2001- will also be available. The show will highlight tunes from these three albums as well as the vast Finch & Henson back-catalogue collection, spanning 30 years.

Check out the 3rd Ear Music Website for more details and some classic Hidden Years stories at http://www.3rdearmusic.com/project/project1101/bfinchcd.html

Brian's Bringing Back The Good Times sessions featured Ken E Henson, Mutt (Robert John) Lange, Arthur Stead, Mike Dickman, Paul Slatter, Bob Denton and Kevin Kruger, among many. It really has stood the taste of time - being voted one of the top 10 all-time SA Rock productions in 1992; although it's taken 30 years to finally get airtime. And judging from the audience reaction around the country and the sales, it's also starting to move among a whole new generation of SAfrican rockers. Never Look Back?

Those fortunate enough to have caught the Finch & Henson re-united act in December 2002 (Glenwood Old Boys), would know that the power, the sound, energy and humour is as strong as ever; if anything it has been refined and amplified in great abundance with Brian having been back on the road for these past five years (Never Look Back was recorded in Namibia) and Ken E having featured in so many shows and bands around Durban - almost forever it seems!
