2003 CALTEX ISICATHAMIYA WINNERS (article first published : 2003-05-23)

Siyajabula High School of Botha's Hill were the winners of the 2003 Caltex Isicathamiya High Schools Competition held at the Bat Centre on May 9 which involved 50 choirs. They walked away with prize money of R1000, a large trophy and an Appearance Certificate.

In second place was J L Dube High School, KwaMashu, and the third place went to Ilanga High School of KwaDabeka, outside Clermont. In addition to the main prizes, there were 100 cash prizes awarded to the top ten contestants.

The event was organised and managed by Chris Ntuli of Durban Black Drifters, who acknowledges the support of sponsors, Caltex and BASA for their generosity in making the event possible.

Durban Black Drifters’ debut album is due to be released this week. Watch this space!
