MAY UND MUSIC (article first published : 2003-04-21)

Every semester the University of Natal’s music school presents a free programme of lunch-hour concerts which take place at 12h15 in Howard College Theatre (unless otherwise specified)

May 5: KZN Philharmonic with students of the UND School of Music. Note change of venue: This concert is at the Rick Turner Students' Union Hall.

May 7: New Music by UND Composition students

May 12: Darius Brubeck with visiting Swedish jazz musicians

May 14: A Feast of Singing - Students of the UND Opera School & Choral Academy

May 19: Piano recital by Benjamin Fourie who performs works by Etienne van Rensburg and Stefans Grové.

May 21: Nomthandazo Mkize (mezzo-soprano) accompanied by Andrew Warburton (piano).

May 26: Melvin Peters (piano) and Jeff Robinson (saxophone and flute) perform improvisatory music drawn from different traditions

May 28: UND Violin students perform accompanied by Laura Jarvis.
