JACQUI GETS AN AWARD (article first published : 2003-01-7)

Last November, 10 year-old Jacqueline Wedderburn-Maxwell was awarded the prize as the most promising musician aged 10 or younger in South Africa. The only KZN representative in the Sanlam SA Music competition for primary school learners held in Parow near Cape Tow, she came out tops over 68 finalists.

A Durban Girls College pupil, she was inspired to play the violin by Vanessa Mae at the age of five and hasnít looked back since.
