RHEE THUSI & JAMA LUCKY STARS (article first published : 2002-01-5)

The next Durban Arts free lunch hour concert on the City Hall Steps will take place on January 9 at 12h45 and runs until 14h00. The programme is presented with the support of the Royal Netherlands Embassy.

The Curtain Raiser performer will be Rhee Thusi, a talented young soloist from Kwa Maphumulo who sings a range of music from Mbhaqanga to opera. She started singing when she was still at school and has been a backing artist for nine years. She did her first solo performance on the City Hall Steps in September and is working on her first solo album.

The main highlight of the programme will be Jama Lucky Stars, an isicathamiya group that specialises in fine choreography and has won many titles in music competitions.

More details from Patrick “Big Boy” Zungu on 031 312-1236.
