CONCERT FEVER NEW YEAR JORL (article first published : 2001-12-26)

See in the New Year on December 31 in plush air-conditioned comfort with the music of Lenny Kravitz, Sting, Alanis Morisette, Midnight Oil, the Rolling Stones with Concert Fever, the high-energy, slick, polished dynamic rock concert extravaganza at the new-look Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre.

The show stars soloists Joseph Clark, Tim Wells, Kate Bruce and a red-hot six piece live-band. They perform hit numbers by many of the major international performers who have graced South African shores since the end of the apartheid era including Tina Turner, Roxette, Paul Simon, Cliff Richard, Jethro Tull, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Gloria Estefan, Crosby Stills and Nash, Westlife and more.

Concert Fever (reviewed on this site) makes innovative use of interesting video footage and state of the art lighting and sound equipment to create an authentic concert atmosphere and a highly polished, technically superior production. Unlike conventional rock concerts the Sneddon is infinitely more comfortable - especially with the recent addition of brand new auditorium seats.

The evening package includes sparkling wine on arrival, the full show and a party afterwards with all the trimmings - balloons, an extravagant cocktail spread and a late night party-disc-spinning DJ.

"Live theatre always provides the perfect catalyst for a great New Year's Eve. The combination of a high-energy show, bringing in the new year with a packed audience, the show's stars and a late night party, is a winning formula which has always been popular in this town," says one of the show's producers, Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre Manager Jackie Cunniffe.

Tickets R180 includes sparkling wine on arrival, the show, the party and finger supper and are available at Computicket. Credit card bookings on 011 340-8000 or 083 915-8000.
