DURBAN POPS 2001 (article first published : 2001-11-10)

This yearís Durban Pops 2001 will once again feature Richard Cock with the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra and the St Maryís School Choir. Soloists include Natalie Dickson, making a welcome return to Durban for carving a successful operatic career in Cape Town, and 15 year pianist Bruce Williams.

The programme will include Canít Help Loving That Man by Jerome Kern, Straussís Gzardas, Grand March from Aida, Khatchaturianís Sabre Dance and music by Verdi to commemorate the 100th anniversary of this death. Rounding off the programme will be music from Ipi Intombi

The concert will take place on November 17 in the City Hall at 19h30 for 20h00. Ticket prices range from R60 to R90. Complimentary refreshments will be available during the interval. Dress semi-formal. Proceeds to the Rotary Club of Kloof Community projects.
