BOO AT BARGO (article first published : 2001-10-9)

Popular punk band Boo! returns to Durban after an eight month absence to perform at barGo in Greyville Racecourse on October 13.

While they’ve been away, Boo! has continued to make international in-roads and can now justifiably be viewed as one of the few SA rock groups to have cracked the international scene in the modern era. BarGO organiser Neil Comfort reports that word from Cape Town is that they are now tighter than ever after all this touring.

Supporting Boo! will be new Durban based outfit, Ketamine who have also had a taste of the international stage this year after being invited to appear at the Smashing Pumpkins Tribute concert in Chicago in July. “Ironically, whilst over there they did a radio interview which was heard by the members of BOO! who were down in Atlanta at the time,” adds Neil. “Chris Chameleon, Princess Leonie and Ampie Omo were so stoked to hear about the groups appearance at this concert that they made contact with them and so, back in little ole Durban, they will now be performing on the same stage - small world, ain't it?”

Doors open at 20h00 and tickets R30 at the door. This event is presented without any sponsorship. More details from (031) 309-6066 or 083 463-8044
