USHAKA ENTRANCE FEES (article first published : 2004-03-27)

The question on everybody’s mind is what the entrance fees will be for uShaka Marine World which opens on on April 30.

There are four zones in uShaka MARINE WORLD, Wet ‘n Wild, Sea World, uShaka Beach and the Village Walk. There will be paid parking at the main parking area off Point Road. To be at uShaka Marine World and be part of the excitement does not cost a cent. uShaka is a free access area with only two of its areas being paying areas. These are the uShaka Wet ‘n Wild and uShaka Sea World.

Having bought a ticket to Wet ’n Wild, visitors can spend the day on any of the high adrenaline, exhilarating slides in Wet ‘n Wild. This also offers access to the pools and sun decks. From Wet ’n Wild visitors can take a ride around the park in the Duzi Adventure River. On this 450m adventure ride they can catch a glimpse of the dolphins in the interactive pool, the penguins and the sharks, as they go through the ship structure.

A ticket to Sea World offers access to the Wreck, the underground themed aquarium, where visitors can walk into the Phantom Ship and through four different shipwreck experiences, offering a 500m meander with amazing sea life exhibits. In addition to this there is access to the dolphin presentations, seal presentation and penguin rookery. While in Sea World visitors can participate in the interactive features like the Rocky Touch Pool and the lucky ones could be in time for a shark feed.

Ticket prices: uShaka Sea World R80 (R70 senior citizens and R50 children); uShaka Wet n Wild R55 (R40 senior citizens and children), and combined access to both uShaka Sea World and Wet ’n Wild.R110 (R90 senior citzens and R70 children). There are also special prices for school groups on weekdays only: uShaka Sea World R20 pp and combined access R40.
