EARLY DURBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT SHOW (article first published : 2003-07-9)

Ever wondered what kind of public transport was used in the early days of Durban? Come and find out more about it at the Botanic Gardens Visitors Complex on July 13 at 14h30.

“Transport historian Kevan Mardon has done extensive research on Durban's history with specific emphasis on public transport,” says Coleen Dewar, Secretary to the Friends of Botanic Gardens. “He has some wonderful pictures of old Durban and its quaint modes of transport and knows a thing or two about trams and trolley buses. Some of the stories are not only amazing but hilarious too.

“Do you recall the names David Davies, Victor Mackerson, Janet Hanekom from the days of LM Radio?,” Colleen goes on. “Kevan certainly does and will take us down memory lane as he shares with us about these golden days of old time radio.”

More details from Coleen Dewar on 031 202 5819.
