ARTISTS FOR THE FUTURE (article first published : 2002-08-5)

Durban's Botanic Gardens will reverberate to the sound of drums and the energy of young performers on August 31 when the Earth Justice Movement co-ordinates an Earth Party celebrating Artists for the Future. This will form an added attraction to the Botanical Society's popular Indigenous Plant Sale which last year attracted 5,000 people.

The event will feature young performers of all kinds, and culminate with a mass drum circle open to all.

The event has the support of UK-based Gaia Foundation which is one of the organisers of the Peoples Earth Summit taking place in Johannesburg as part of the World Summit on Sustainable Development.

More details from co-ordinators Lylie Musgrave of Kibao Communications, Mike Mazzoni of Interitmo Drummers and Zeph Nzama of Imbumba Artists on 031 304-8935, fax 031 304-3306 or email: kibao@iafrica.com
