SATURDAY WIRED (article first published : 2000-04-11)

This week’s Saturday Wired radio programme on SAfm on April 15 from 11h00 to 13h00 discovers more about the new TV series S'camtu and the manner in which it could impact on South African youth. SAMA winners Ghetto Luv will be in the studio, discussing their involvement in the TV programme.

Also on the programme will be the MNet Face of Africa with insider details on the finalists, as well as an interview with executive producer Jan Malan. There’s also an insert on the art of stripping. In conjunction with the April issue of Marie Claire, Michelle Constant chats to the strippers of the Titty Twister and get's the 'low down' on the job.

Darryl Bristow Bovey will file his report from a ship somewhere up the west coast of Africa, whilst Alan Swerdlow and Annie Williams will be a little closer to home, with their theatre and movie reviews.

The presenters will be chatting to bassist Carlo Mombelli about his involvement in the latest Sunday Wireless which takes place on April 16 at 15h00 at Bassline in Melville, Johannesburg. Tickets are R20. Recently returned to South Africa, Carlo Mombelli will appear with Tananas drummer Ian Herman and rapper/performace artist Waddy Jones (ex of Original Evergreen and Bruce Cassidy's Body Electric). This performance offers a chance to see two of South Africa's most talented and experienced musicians offer their skills to create something entirely fresh with the Waddy Jones’s words, rhymes, lyrics and poetry.

The Sunday Wireless project is recorded live at the Bassline and broadcast a week later on Saturday Wired. Thereafter it is broadcast on the rest of Safm.
