CHARITY RAFFLE 2008 (article first published : 2008-06-14)

The 2008 Charity Raffle almost at halfway mark! Call 031-202 6174 & order your tickets now! A Great Way for the Community & Charities to Raise Funds!

The Combined Service Clubs Charity Raffle has nearly reached the half-way mark with 23,800 tickets having been distributed to 22 charities. So with only 26,200 to go the organizers are encouraging charities, NPOs, service clubs and schools to register and obtain their tickets to raise funds through this super community project. The Rotary Club of Durban, Round Table Durban South and Durban Central Lions Club are striving to reach the target of 50,000 tickets in this, the project’s 10th anniversary year!

Participating organisations keep the rewards – last year’s top best sellers Allandale School and the Crisis Careline Centre each raised R16,000 for their projects and others may do even better!

R4 of every ticket goes to the charity selling the ticket to boost their existing income so it is definitely a win-win situation. All the admin, tickets, posters, sponsors, prizes etc is organised for the charities - all they need to do is sell tickets and return the stubs in time for the Grand Draw in early September.

Members of the public can take advantage of this excellent opportunity to win 48 fabulous prizes while supporting and helping many charities to raise much-needed funds. This year's top prize is R10,000 while other prizes up for grabs include 1Time Airline tickets; 3x ‘ShareFinder’ computer programmes; Budget Rent-A-Car 7 day car hire; midweek & weekend holidays from selected Optima Holidays resorts, Shayamoya Game Lodge, Tala Game Reserve and Sierra Ranch; ladies & gents watches from NWJ; Escape Health & Wellness Centre VIP 12 month membership; Kodak Digital Camera; Natal Sharks hamper; vouchers from Game and Spar; treatments from Jill Farquharson and Val-U-Slim; meal vouchers from Havana Grill, Al Firenze, Waxy O’Connors and Olive & Oil; cash prizes and much more - in deed an incentive for the public to buy tickets!

To register as a participant or for more information, please call Adrienne or Lynne at the British Cultural & Heritage Association/1820 Settlers on 031 202 6174.
