SASTS WORKING ADVENTURES (article first published : 2006-02-1)

South African Students' Travel Service (SATS) is searching for drama queens, directors, producers, stage managers or individuals gifted in any other art form to be placed at one of 10,000 Summer Camps in USA.

SASTS working adventures are recruiting individuals who are vibrant, aged 19 to 27 and available between June and August 2006. They will experience a three month working holiday at a camp in the States and earn dollars without paying for food or accommodation. They will also have the opportunity to explore and experience new theatres and art galleries, not to mention some of world's finest museums.

There are some major benefits in signing up on this programme; assistance in obtaining a J-1 visa, eight to ten weeks food and lodging, a Moneywise Guide to America as well as a US $5 phone card and T-shirt. Recruits will receive pre-departure orientation and when they arrive on the other side.

The Visa is valid for four months so recruits can travel after camp but only work on Summer Camp.

South African Students' Travel Service (SASTS) is a not-for-profit (section 21) student and youth travel organisation. Established in 1972 to provide affordable travel services to students on South African campuses, SASTS sees travel as a valuable educational experience, which fosters international understanding. Profits from the organisation are channelled towards bursaries for disadvantaged students and used towards creating new travel and work opportunities for young people. SASTS Working Adventures is the South African member of the International Association for Educational and Work Exchange Programmes (IAEWEP) and the federation of International Youth Travel Organisations (FIYTO).

SASTS Job Fairs take place in Durban on February 18 and March 4 (Cape Town February 18 and March 11 and Johannesburg - February 25 and March 18). More information on 011 325 5899 or visit www.sasts.org.za
