NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Hot on the heels of the highly successful A4 Art Exhibition presented by Ningizimu School for the Severely Mentally Handicapped comes the news that the school’s art class has been judged national winners of the Project of the Year, for the Miracles in Education Campaign. Ningizimu art teacher Robin Opperman flew to Johannesburg today to receive the Award. More good news is that one of Robin Opperman’s students who he managed to enter into an international Internet competition is an international finalist with his two Singaporean team members. “I am trying to arrange travel documents for me to take him to the ceremony in Los Angeles on November 19!” says Robin, adding that the team web site is http://library.advanced.org/27629 and it gives a comprehensive history of the 20th Century.
