KEISKAMMA TAPESTRY (article first published : 2004-09-7)

Running at the Durban Art Gallery from September 17 will be the 120 metre long Keiskamma Tapestry. Made by a group of 60 women in the Eastern Cape, it reflects the history of the region.

It is a fine example of a narrative story of a part of South Africa's heritage which is told in pictures. Story telling and a choir accompany the show. This will open at Red Eye on September 17 at 18h00 and forms part of Celebrate Durban.
