NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Thomas Chalmers Robertson was an extraordinarily gifted man - journalist, raconteur, ardent naturalist, war correspondent and Jan Smuts's anti-Nazi propagandist during World War II. His most significant work, however, lay in protecting South Africa's soil and grasses and this became his life-long passion. Shirley Bell has now written the biography of this fascinating man in a book titled The Happy Warrior: The Story of TC Robertson. The book will be launched at Ike's Books on May 11 at 17h30 for 18h00 .Guest speaker will be Dr Ian Player, a friend of TC Robertson and author Shirley Bell. Drinks and snacks will be served. More information from Joanne Rushby, Ike's Books and Collectables at 48a Florida Road, Durban.
