JOU MA SE POEMS (article first published : 2005-10-11)

Adams Campus Bookshop and Pine Slopes Publications will launch Jou Ma se Poems, a poetry collection by Aryan Kaganof during the Poetry Africa Festival on October 12.

Aryan Kaganof was born again in Randburg in 2001, drives a Jaguar, shoots Glock. His poetry collections include Drive-Thru Funeral, Tombstone Dues, Abandonement Boulevard, Einsturzende Neugedichten, For Those Who Love To Die and Post-Mortemist Poems, all published by Pine Slopes Publications. He also has a collection, The Freedom Fighter, published in Amsterdam by Illuseum Press.

Jou Ma Se Poems is a collection culled from the hundreds of poems by Aryan Kaganof that have been published on the Internet by diverse literary sites, including Exquisite Corpse, A Dead Mule, Howling Dog Press, Jack Magazine, Eratio, Donga and many others. Itís an ideal way to get addicted to the voluminous output of Aryan Kaganof, described by literary critic Paul Wessels as Ď lifeís recording angelí. All of Kaganofís best loved poems are in Jou Ma Se Poems, as well as the first publication of his vertical mesostic, a tribute to John Cage.

Guest speaker Storm Janse van Rensburg will introduce Aryan Kaganof at the launch on October 12 which will be held from 18h45 to 19h15 in the Wellington Tavern at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre. If you wish to attend the launch, contact Cedric Sissing at Adams Campus Bookshop on 031 261 2320 or 082-873-2702 or e-mail cedric@adamsbooks.co.za

In the main programme at 19h30, Aryan Kaganof will be featured alongside Domingo Alfonso (Cuba), Celena Glenn (USA), Chiwoniso (Zimbabwe) and Lemn Sissay (UK).
