The Live Poets' Society (LiPS) has an exciting guest presenter for the group's first meeting at its new venue, the Quarterdeck in Durban's Point Yacht Club. Following the success of Evelyn Cresswell's debut collection Touched and Touching three years ago, this renowned poet now launches A Conspiracy of Stars.

Her first work gained great acclaim when selections were performed by the Kwasuka Theatre Company on stage and then CD. It led to her being invited as one of the performing poets in Durban's 2002 International Poetry Africa Festival. She will be introduced by her editor and publisher Prof Pieter Scholtz, the well-known actor, author and playwright.

As LiPS is moving its meeting-place to the Point Yacht Club, it is apt that the evening's theme should be To the Point. Anyone who has poems which could be linked to this broad topic is invited to present them. The evening will wind up with a Poet Pourri session when poems on any subject may be aired.
