IKE’S BOOKS NEW STOCK (article first published : 2004-04-5)

Ike’s Books & Collectables in Morningside has a number of new books in stock.

These include South Africa and the Transvaal War, published 1900 (7 Vols.) half leather bound in good condition at R1,800; Natal The Land and Its Story by Robert Russell published 1897 in good condition at R120; The View Across the River: Harriette Colenso & the Zulu Struggle against Imperialism by Jeff Guy published 2001 at R150, and Natalians First Separatism in South Africa 1909-1961 by PS Thompson published in 1990 at R120.

Also available are Cradle Days of Natal 1497 – 1845 by Graham Mackeurtan published in 1930 at R350; The Scramble for Africa by Thomas Pakenham published in 1991 at R120; Robben Island by Simon de Villiers published 1971 at R120; Travels in South Africa by John Campbell published in 1974 at R950.

Also available are The Old Fort at Durban which was published for The South African National Society at R250; Africa and the Victorians by Ronald Robinson published in 1981 at R100, and The construction of the Suez Canal by John Pudney published in 1969 at R100.
