NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Minerva Press have recently launched Polygonia – A story of a Southern African Country by Henri Mervin. The story unfolds in transitional South African through the eyes of a young black man, Joseph Khuzwayo. “A highly topical book focusing on the recent transition of South Africa under white rule to the hypothetical state of Polygonia under black rule," says the cover notes. Joseph travels overseas for military and political training and when he returns home, he has a plan. He intends to subvert the present political system and overthrow it. This is not an easy task and Joseph faces a lot of tough situations. Henri Mervin, now living in Durban, was born in France in 1933 and studied medicine in England. He has worked in Africa for 36 years, 28 of them in South Africa, usually in casualty or surgical wards. Price £9.99. Books can be ordered from Unit Distribution on +44 (0) 1536 747 628, fax +44 (0) 1536 741766 or e-mail distribution@unity-print.com
