On BBC World’s HARDtalk on October 23 at 08h30, David Jessel talks to best-selling US author James Patterson.

Turned down by more than 20 publishers when he wrote his first book in the 1970s, he is today one of the best-selling writers in the world, with novels including Kiss the Girls, Cat and Mouse and Pop Goes the Weasel. His books have been turned into film - Morgan Freeman starred in the adaptation of Kiss the Girls.

James Patterson will talk to David Jessel about writing and his new project - the Women's Murder Club. There are repeat broadcasts throughout the day at 11h30, 14h30 and 20h30 as well as at 01h30 the following morning.
