The SAFTA awards will be presented in seven sections: Television including TV fiction: TV comedy, TV drama and TV soap as well as TV non fiction including Magazine shows, News and Actuality, Wildlife, Children, Variety and Reality programmes, Feature film, Student film, Short film, Documentary, Animation and Special Awards.

Judging panels made up of representatives of industry organisations, institutions, companies and media will select the nominees and eventual category awards winners. Although most of the awards will be judged by SAFTA 2007 judging panels, audiences will be able to vote for their favourite soapie via a phone-in and SMS competition. The judging process will be overseen and verified by independent auditors. The SAFTA 2007 Nominees will be made public at the SAFTA 2007 Nominee Announcement Junket on September 28.

The winners will be presented with the Golden Horn, the official SAFTA Trophy at the red carpet gala ceremonies that will host the cream of South African talent, leading personalities in the local film, television and music industry, key government, private sector and media VIP's on October 26 and 27.
