PARKIE ON DECEMBER 16 AND 25 (article first published : 2005-12-12)

On M-Net on December 16 at 22h15, Michael Parkinson appears in one of his regular popular chat shows.

He will be joined by one of music’s greatest icons, Stevie Wonder who will perform two of his biggest hits, From The Bottom of My Heart and a medley of Superstition and Positivity. Parkinson joins the soul legend by the piano to talk about his extraordinary career as one of the world’s most successful singers and composers.

Joining them is French soccer star Thierry Henry, the Arsenal player with “va va voom”. He will be talking to Parkinson about his record breaking career at the North London club, his appearances for the French national side, and scoring a new role as a father, following the birth of his first child earlier this year.

Actress Sarah Lancashire will join them to talk about her move from the small screen to treading the boards in the London production of Guys and Dolls as Adelaide, when she takes over from Ally McBeal’s Jane Krakowsi.

Completing this week’s line up is entertainer and actor Matthew Kelly, who will talk about his successful move from TV-presenting to his critically acclaimed and award winning acting roles on both the stage and TV.

On December 25 at the same time, Michael Parkinson presents one of the biggest stars of our era, Robbie Williams.

With Lord of the Dance and Riverdance having changed the face of Irish dancing, Parkinson welcomes Michael Flatley who has just embarked on his latest mega production, Celtic Tiger, after a four year break from performing.

Completing the line-up and giving a rare interview is the much-loved and highly-acclaimed actor Peter O’Toole who will be talking about new movie Lassie and his extraordinary life in film and theatre.
