Following the highly successful event of 2005, the Durban International Film Festival has announced that its 27th edition will take place from June 14 to 25, 2006. Once again, the festival will present over 300 screenings of films from around the world with a special focus on films from South African and Africa. Screenings will take place throughout Durban including township areas where cinemas are non-existent. The festival also offers a seminar and workshop programme featuring local and international filmmakers. The festival calls for entries from around the world. Feature films, short films and documentaries are all welcome. The festival includes a competition component in ten categories. Deadline for entries is March 1, 2006, for short films and documentaries and March 15, 2006, for feature films. The entry form is available on the web at www.cca.ukzn.ac.za/Durban_International_Film_Festival.htm More information from the Centre for Creative Arts on 031 260 2506 or email diff@ukzn.ac.za Information on the other festivals presented by CCA at www.cca.ukzn.ac.za
