GRUMPY OLD WOMEN (article first published : 2005-10-28)

Starting on November 5 at 21h00 is the four-part half-hour series programme Grumpy Old Women, the female answer to Grumpy Old Men.

Now it's the turn of the women to rant and rage at the modern world. These grumpy old women find plenty to complain about - whether it's the difficulties of finding tolerable underwear, or hot flushes, memory loss and the appearance of facial hair. Then there's sexual inequality, with men claiming that women are 'so much better at multi-tasking' and conveniently leaving them to do it all; and other people - whether young or old, infant or geriatric - seemingly always in the way, and having way more fun than our middle-aged grumps.

Those venting their spleen include Anne Widdecombe, Jilly Cooper, Annette Crosbie, Jenny Eclair, Germaine Greer, Sheila Hancock, Janet Street Porter, and Arabella Weir. Narrated by Aliston Steadman.
