NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Based on the best-selling stories by Elizabeth George, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries starts a new series on BBC Prime on DStv on October 24 at 21h00. This contemporary murder mystery series features the charismatic Inspector Lynley, whose title as the 8th Earl of Asherton fuels a sparky relationship with his working class partner Barbara Havers. Lynley and Havers were first paired up by their boss at Scotland Yard and, despite initial sparks due to their different upbringings, a mutual respect blossomed. Now an established team, they find themselves working on a series of mysterious murders. In the first mystery of this series, a double murder on the moors, of a young camper and her companion, takes Inspector Lynley to the Peak District, where he finds the beautiful Derbyshire countryside masking a far darker world. Starring Nathaniel Parker (Vanity Fair) and Sharon Small (Sunburn).
