TALKING MOVIES (article first published : 2005-03-14)

Talking Movies can be seen on BBC World, Channel 50 on DStv.

This week the programme features the new film In My Country which explores the enduring marks left by decades of apartheid in South Africa. Samuel L Jackson discusses his role as a journalist assigned to cover the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings, where whites and blacks met to confront their country's history.

There's also a report from the New York premiere of Millions, in which two young boys stumble upon the spoils of a bank robbery but have just a week to spend it before the UK switches currency.

The new documentary Gunner Palace focuses on the daily routines of a group of soldiers in Iraq who are living in one of Saddam Hussein's bombed-out homes.

These items will feature on Talking Movies on March 15 at 22h30; March 17 at 18h30; March 18 at 03h30; 10h30 and 15h30 and March 19 at 23h30.
