ACCESS ALL AREAS WEEKEND (article first published : 2004-01-23)

From January 30 to February 1, MTV on the DStv channel goes behind the scenes of the music world’s biggest stars.

“We’re lifting the lid on the lives of the music world’s biggest stars, and have scoured the MTV libraries to find all our favourite access all areas programmes. We'll show you what happens behind the scenes during the promotion of a new album, give you an insight into life on the road, reveal the uncensored versions of some of our most famous shows and events, and even allow glimpses at fantastic homes and extravagant lifestyles, disclosing the reality of the true day to day lives of the stars."

Britney: In The Zone & Out All Night (Friday at 14h00). In this one-hour special, Britney unleashes some of her new tunes on unsuspecting New Yorkers in a variety of locations – with no advance warning. MTV cameras captured fan reactions as one of the world’s most idolized performers shows up completely unexpected, to put on a show for star-struck audiences.

MTV Movie Awards Uncensored (Friday at 15h00) - With its madcap performances, clever film spoofs and more and more obscure award categories the ceremony just can’t be missed and in this special uncensored version you get to relive some of the most magic moments from throughout the years.

Making The Movie: Matrix Trilogy (Friday at 16h00). Check out the fight choreography, wire work, green screen acting, and amazing computer-generated effects, as well as the hard task that the actors face of memorizing the exposition-heavy dialogue.

Ozzfest Uncensored (Friday at 16h30) - Before the Osbournes became the worlds favourite dysfunctional family, and Ozzy and his clan became the toast of the international media, Ozzy was the presiding legend of Ozzfest - the worlds wildest rock tour.

Diary: Pink (Friday at 17h30; Saturday at 15h00, Sunday at 12h00). Diary emerges as the first ever invitation into the life of an artist, narrated first hand- directly into the camera. Time is spent with Pink in the studio along with Redman, at her Stuff magazine photo shoot, and at home with her mom in Philadelphia.

Diddy Runs The City (Saturday at 13h00) - documents the life of P Diddy from the moment he makes the official announcement that he will run the New York marathon through to the day of the big race.

MTV Album Launch Blink 182 (Saturday at 14h00). In January of 2003, Blink 182 stepped into the studio to record what they hope will be the album of their career. MTV's cameras were there to document every step of the journey.

Backstage Pass Week - Sanitarium Tour (Saturday at 15h30, Sunday at 12h30) - Join MTV and Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Metallica as they take time out of life on the road to throw the tailgate party of the century. The parking lot will be turned into a true "summer sanitarium party" with grills, lawn chairs, three of the most powerful bands around, and a bunch of die hard rock fans.

TRL Uncensored II (Sunday at 13h00) - a second look into the world of TRL and the stars who have walked through its hallowed halls. The highs and lows - from the Blackout of 2003, to Tom Cruise, to wacky dunk booth hi-jinks, angry artists, flummoxed VJ's, and crazed audience participation.
