GOINGPLACES (article first published : 2008-03-15)

Events organisers now have the opportunity to extend the exposure of their shows and events, as well as increase the sale of tickets.

GoingPlaces, which has a powerful internet presence (over 100,000 pages read per month) as www.goingplacessa.com / www.goingplacessa.co.za now has stands in two locations in Durban.

The company promotes the arts and tourism by displaying posters, pamphlets and booklets on Saturday mornings at the Essenwood Craft Market. Tickets are also on sale via an online computer enabling instant booking access.

GoingPlaces now has an unmanned stand at the Department of Arts and Culture’s new offices in Commercial City in Durban’s central business district.

GoingPlaces was created to fill a gap in the market whereby members of the public can find out more about entertainment, leisure and tourism in KZN specifically and South Africa in general.

‘It is the recreation of the old-fashioned box-office, where the person in charge could offer advice on the choice of entertainment and discuss the customers’ preferences. The stands also jog one’s memory and provide instant gratification (on a Saturday morning, in particular) – though we do have an office in Gallo House, 136 Cowey Road, Essenwood,’ says Ailsa Windsor, passionate entertainment editor and principal member of GoingPlaces.

For further information on the sale of tickets or the placing of posters and other advertising material contact Carmen or Ailsa on 031 309 1841 (b/h) or Ailsa on 083 250 2690.
