BENT (article first published : 2001-09-25)

The Drama Studies department of the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, is presenting the award winning play Bent by Martin Sherman in the Hexagon Theatre from October 8 to 13.

Paul Datlen is director, Greg King the designer and Greig Coetzee makes a guest appearance as Greta, the nightclub owner and drag queen singer! Set in Nazi Germany during World War 2, the play examines the persecution and incarceration of homosexuals during that period. The play commences in Berlin and ends in a concentration camp at Dachau. This is a production not for the faint-hearted and definitely not for young children.

Bookings on (033) 260-5537 (mornings only).
