TRIBUTES TO CINDY NGIDI (article first published : 2008-07-9)

Actor, writer and director Hamish Kyd and producers Siyakhanya Event Co-Ordinators pay tribute to the young Durban actress who died on Monday (see separate article).

To work with Cindy was a director’s dream,” says Hamish Kyd, Artistic Director of Storyland who wrote Jimbo and Motown Forever in which Cindy appeared. “She was always pleasant and got the job done. She is a sad loss to the entertainment industry in South Africa.”

Always bubbly, professional and ready to take on a challenge, Cindy will be missed by audiences and colleagues alike.

Jackie de Vries, Pauline Baker and Revaun Jacobs, co–producers of Motown Forever also feel the loss of such a talented performer.

“In the short time that Siyakhanya Event Co-Ordinators had the pleasure of working with Cindy, we found her to be a dynamic performer with a pleasant disposition. She was an asset to Motown Forever and will certainly be missed by all.”
