CAMPTON DOUBLE BILL (article first published : 2000-10-1)

A Slice of Madness (see Festivals) is a month-long celebration of the performing arts at the Kwasuka Theatre during October.

On the programme, with its first performance taking place tomorrow (October 1 at 18h30), is a double bill of David Campton’s absurdist one-act classics, Mutatis Mutandis and Then....

In Then …, with Angus Douglas and Pertulia Ramaphala, Miss Europe and a mathematics teacher survive the end of the world by putting paper bags over their heads. Now, if only they can find the courage to remove them …

The interpretation of Mutatis Mutandis offers a fresh take on the play - by switching sexes! Douglas, an accountant, is played by Caroline Palmer. His wife Celia is portrayed by Clinton Marius. The couple has to come to grips with themselves - and their very unusual baby. Other performances of this double bill are on October 8, 12, 21, 27 and 29.

Book at Computicket or at the Kwasuka Theatre on (031) 309-2236.
