CHERRY CELEBRATES! (article first published : 2007-09-13)

Ever wondered what clowns are, where they come from and which park bench they camp under at night? Come along and find out a little more when Adi Paxton aka Cherry the Magical Clown celebrates in a fun family show in the Botanic Gardens New Amphitheatre: Audience members help to recreate the story and development of this ditzy clown. They meet Tramp, Blossom and the Great Magnifico along the way.

The show, which celebrates Cherry the Magical Clown’s 21st birthday and coming of age as a clown, offers 45 minutes of family fun with magic, clowning juggling puppetry and a little mime. The show is suitable for audiences aged 4 to 104!

Cherry Celebrates! is one of the inaugural shows in the New Botanic Garden’s Amphitheatre. under the fig tree above the tea kiosk. It runs from September 24 to 29 at 11h00 daily. Tickets R30 available half an hour before the show starts. Bring a blanket, a picnic and enjoy the Gardens after the show.
