SPOTLIGHT PRODUCTIONS (article first published : 2006-12-14)

Highway Amateur Theatre Group, Spotlight Productions, recently staged their debut production, VOGUE, at the Atholl Heights School Hall.

VOGUE showcased the music and artists who inspired fashion trends over the past 30 years. From ABBA to Madonna, George Michael to Robbie Williams, and many more.

Spotlight Productions was formed by Kirsten Bourne-Lange and Nicole Mills after they were unable to stage VOGUE at their former Theatre Club venue, due to timing constraints and scheduling difficulties.

Putting together a cast of 11, and drawing on each cast membersí individual talent, Kirsten and Nicole, along with the cast presented a show that impressed audiences. As a result, Spotlight Productions have been asked to stage the show for various other charities, and various other venues.

VOGUE will hopefully be staged again at the end of December.

The cast and crew of VOGUE all performed purely out of the passion they have for the stage. All the profits from the show are donated between charities and worthy causes, the main benefactor being Zane Higgins, a 14 year old boy, who is in need of a cochlea implant to enable him to hear. The balance of the money is being divided between the Kloof and Highway SPCA, CHOC and The Westville Presbyterian Church.
