CRACKING UP WITH COLIN COTTONBOTTOM (article first published : 2006-07-7)

Hit by a bus, hit by lightning, left by his wife, this man is having something a bit worse than a bad hair day.

Colin Cottonbottom finds himself under the N3 bridge surrounded by rubbish. From the first moment of the play when the character appears from the cardboard box, one knows that this is going to be a creative and fun journey.

Wallace’s comic timing is simply superb. His imaginative use of the various bits of rubbish and his supposed environment is amazing. Wallace’s physical impersonation of characters as wide ranging from Michael Mohl to Kung Fu movie characters is a joy to watch. However, Wallace should feel more confident in his material and avoid explaining his jokes.

Written, performed and directed by Brian Wallace, this energetic romp is highly entertaining. – Luke Thomas
