A CIRCUS ADVENTURE (article first published : 2006-03-19)

A delightful children’s production, A Circus Adventure, will open for the holidays at the iZulu Theatre at Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom, Durban on March 31.

Produced by well-known impresario Sue Clarence, A Circus Adventure is written and directed by popular theatre personality Anthony Stonier and stars Rowan Bartlett, Julia Clarence, Sean De Klerk and Marc Kay.

The show is described as a charming fun-filled romp for children between the ages of four and 12 years. It unfolds the story of a young princess who has run away from her wicked stepmother to join a circus. On her journey she meets Bubbles the larger-than-life clown who has carelessly lost his circus and is in search of another. Along the way they encounter a magic talking tiger and an evil ringmaster and the fun begins!

Of course it all ends happily ever after. Good triumphs over evil. The princess finds her courage. She and Bubbles outwit the ringmaster and the friends find fame and fortune in their very own circus. The tale is told with mad-cap fun and games, jokes, songs and lots of audience participation.

At the end of the performance, the audience will be able to meet the characters who will show them how to juggle and make balloon animals. There is face painting and lots more in this 90-minute programme of entertainment.

A Circus Adventure runs from March 31 to April 17 with shows at 11h00 and 14h00 each day. Tickets R35 (group discounts available). Bookings through Sibaya box office on 031 580 5555 or Computicket.
