NOAH (article first published : 2005-06-9)

Written by Andre Obay, directed by John McMichael, and performed by pupils of Hilton College and St Anne’s College, Noah is a modern ‘take’ on a very old story.

Noah is a God-fearing and decent man with three late adolescent sons (the middle son being a rebel). He is told by God to build an Ark and save his family, the world’s animals, and his next door neighbours, from catastrophe.

While the rest of the world drowns, Noah struggles to maintain respect, and to keep his bored and restive crew faithful to his vision of what God intends for them all. Containing elements of pathos, humour and tragedy, the story has relevance to any family under stress in any era and in any place!

Noah has performances at Hilton College Theatre from June 14 to 16 at 19h.30. Tickets R25. All bookings and enquiries on 033 383 0126, e-mail: theatre@hiltoncollege.com or visit www.artslink.co.za/Hilton
