CRIMES OF THE HEART (article first published : 2005-04-11)

Greg King and his KickstArt Company have done it again: chosen a poignant, deliciously funny and very accessible play – Crimes of the Heart – to “kick start” its the new year’s drama programme at the Kwasuka Theatre.

The Magrath sisters sure have a way with men – Lenny (Clare Mortimer) never had one; Meg (Liesl Coppin) just dumped one and Babe (Olivia Borgen) just shot one!

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Beth Henley’s highly entertaining play has also been made into a movie starring Sissy Spacek, Dianne Keaton and Jessica Lange as the three sisters.

Crimes of the Heart is directed and designed by Greg King and features Liesl Coppin, Olivia Borgen, Carol Trench, Clare Mortimer, Michael Gritten and Bryan Hiles. It previews from April 13 and runs until April 30.

Tickets R65 booked through Computicket with concessions for pensioners, scholars and large groups. There is a Sunday matinee at 15h00 with a free cup of tea or coffee!
