CRIMES OF THE HEART (article first published : 2005-03-26)

Greg King and his KickstArt Company have chosen a poignant, deliciously funny and very accessible play with Crimes of the Heart which marks the company’s first production of 2005 at Kwasuka theatre.

The Magrath sisters have a way with men – Lenny (Clare Mortimer) never had one; Meg (Liesl Coppin) just dumped one and Babe (Olivia Borgen) just shot one!

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Beth Henley’s play has also been made into a movie starring Sissy Spacek, Dianne Keaton and Jessica Lang as the three sisters.

Crimes of the Heart is directed and designed by Greg King and features Liesl Coppin, Olivia Borgen, Clare Mortimer, Michael Gritten and Bryan Hiles.

The season previews from April 13 at Kwasuka Theatre and runs until April 30. Tickets R65 through Computicket (concessions for pensioners, scholars and large groups). There is a Sunday matinee at 15h00 with a free cup of tea or coffee!
