ENEMY (article first published : 2000-02-23)

Two young men with different backgrounds and values, meet at an abandoned tank in a war zone and, as they become friends, they re-evaluate their lives. This is the theme of Robin Maugham's play, Enemy, which opens at the Courtyard Theatre on March 1 at 19h30 and runs until March 7.

Directed by Jacky Vermaas, featuring 3rd year students and well-known Durban actor/director Garth Anderson, Enemy is the first production to be staged by the Technikon in their 2000 season. This also includes The Importance of Being Ernest to be directed by Dr Brian Pearce which runs at the Courtyard Theatre from March 17 - 20 at 19h00. Also programmed are Rites of Spring choreographed by Jay Pather and a revival of the musical, Lost in the Stars which enjoyed a very successful season last year again directed by Jacky Vermaas, with musical direction by Juan Burgers and choreography by Hugo le Roux.
