BUMS AND ROSES (article first published : 2003-04-25)

In an attempt to continue to service innovative ideas, The Catalina Theatre is starting a “late nite live” revue show bar on Fridays and Saturdays – starting with the sexy and highly amusing musical cabaret Bums and Roses.

This idea is designed for those late night owls who want to enjoy a drink and have some fun on the Catalina deck. During the run of Desperately Seeking Prince Charming, the Hometalk Project will presenting a new show called Bums and Roses at 23h00 on Friday and Saturday nights.

The concept is devised and directed by Themi Venturas who created such hits as Cantina Tequila, Good Vibrations, Hometalk and The Guitar that Rocked the World!

A cast of sexy male and female cabaret dancers wiggle their attractive bodies to the sounds of Michael Jackson, N'sync, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Shania Twain and a variety of other musical artists.

Bums and Roses stars Anie Field, Ingrid Weerheim, Jann Bodicker, Selwyn Rautenbach and Clinton Green.

The 'late nite live' slot at the Catalina will be used for revues, stand-up comedy and music offering a fun alternative to heading for home after dining out or going to the movies. The theatre is upmarket, air-conditioned and has comfortable seating. Patrons may take their drinks into the auditorium.

For more information – or to book, call The Catalina Theatre on 031 305 6889.
