SPECIAL DANCE (article first published : 2000-07-23)

Glasgow-based dancer and choreographer Rosina Bonsu makes a return visit to Durban accompanied by Rwaringeni Denga who works with the Zimbabwean National Ballet in Harare.

Formerly director of the Scottish Balletís education unit, Rosina works with people of all ages and abilities - with and without special needs - on a wide range of dance and movement activities. She also teaches dancers, vocational students and youth and community leaders in the United Kingdom and abroad. On this, her second visit to Durban, Rosina will conduct a series of workshops with young people from the Very Special Arts Group culminating in a finale performance to coincide with the National Children's Day celebrations.

Performances will take place at the Asoka Theatre at the University of Durban Westville on August 31 and September 1 and 2, The workshops form part of the British Council initiative Britain Dancing with Durban. More details from Ansu Bhagwanjee at Very Special Arts on (031) 201-6232.
