CERAMICS SA (article first published : 2005-05-15)

Craft artists should not miss the opportunity of participating in Ceramics Southern Africa (Kwa-Zulu Region)’s exhibition which will run in conjunction with Kearsney College’s UpBeat Musical Festival to take place from May 27 to 29.

While the festival itself (see separate article) only runs over three days, the ceramics exhibition runs until June 5.

Ceramic artists, fibre and fabric artists as well as glass artists and others are invited to submit work for selection on May 22. The theme of the exhibition will be Movement but this is not a prerequisite. There is a first prize of R1,000.

Ceramics Southern Africa will also present a dynamic workshop on unlocking one’s creativity through movement and clay. Gillian Vellet, a registered art therapist and bio danza teacher will run the morning course on May 28.

To book for the workshop or for more information on the exhibition, call Tim on 031 765 2319.
