CRAFT AT KEARSNEY (article first published : 2004-06-7)

Crafters and arts-makers are warmly invited to come along and exhibit their wares at the inaugural Kearsney College Music Festival to be held in the in the gracious college grounds from June 11 to 13.

Kearsney College is hosting a winter weekend music festival of eclectic music. To add to the ambience of the festival, as well as the musical line-up, the organisers are looking to create a sophisticated arts, craft and unusual-wares market for music lovers to enjoy in-between shows.

The carefully-chosen music programme has been designed so that it is possible to see every single production with breaks in between.

Stall-holders of appropriate arts, crafts and unusual flea-market wares are being sought. Trading areas are four square metres and stall-holders should provide their own gazebo, tables and infrastructure. A nominal amount will be charged which goes towards the festival.

Organisers are looking forward to a fun weekend. As well as the delicious music and craft market, there will be a visual art display, various food outlets and plenty of fortifying liquid refreshment accompanied by mellow music, lots of buskers and a free concert featuring Lounge Act at 17h00 on Saturday evening followed by Kerry de Witt and Colin Peddie at 19h00.

Interested crafters should contact Janet Walsh on janetw@eject.co.za or on 082 806 7260.

Full programme can be obtained from Computicket outlets, or visit www.kearsney.com

Kearsney College wishes to thank their sponsors and partners Suncoast Casino; Zulu Kingdom; Enforce Security; Maxprop Properties; Pinetown Printers; KKS Catering; Standard Bank; Ewing, Adams & Associates and Waltons Stationers.
