DEBATE AND EXHIBITION (article first published : 2003-01-7)

Gustav (Jack) Kaltenbrun will present an exhibition of work at the Methodist Church Hall at Athlone Park from 17h30 on January 15. This will be followed by supper and a debate on Art and the Christian Church. Entry to the exhibition is free but donations are requested for the debate and supper in aid of church funds.

Jack will exhibit portrait charge images of people he has met such as Mother Theresa, street people, jazz addicts, Turkish friends. On show will be silver work which will include sculpture and jewellery. “Portrait charge is the ripest form of caricature,” says Jack Kaltenbrun. “It brings out the force of personality rather than flatter the person.”

Booking on 031 904 3344 or from the Church office.
